Hey! This isn't my first account with Mastodon, or even my second, but this is the first one where I decided to make my own instance for it.

Stuff I'm interested in: Tech, Infosec, and all sorts of stuff.

Which one do you use most?

Reply to explain. Boost for bigger sample.
(Sorry for the edit. I put metatext too.)

One of the unexpected joys of the fediverse over other places is the addition of weird domains appended on to everyone's usernames.

It makes the web feel like more than just four websites again.

It's both a signal of a smaller more intimate internet and also a larger and far more diverse internet at the same time!

Sure would suck if you spent $44,000,000,000 on a website thinking that people would keep looking at that website and then people stopped looking at that website and went and looked at a different website instead

@trumpet Hi there! This is a personal instance for just me, and I've added the rules currently used by y'all. I'd love to be approved for relay.

Felt like getting a fun branded mastodon name, rather than one on a public instance :D

I'm constantly oscillating between:

"I can't find a good email host. I'll do it myself."

and

"Doing it myself means one more thing to maintain. I need a provider."
